Among the multiple meanings of the term tissue , this time we are interested in staying with his meaning in anatomy, zoology and botany: a tissue, in this case, is a set of cells that act in a coordinated way with a common purpose. Connective , on the other hand, is an adjective that refers to what link or link the parts of something .

The idea of connective tissue , thus, mentions a formation of cells and homogeneous matter , which is crossed by various fibers. The function of connective tissues is to provide support to the organism and favor the integration of its different systems.

In addition to the data that we have released so far on the mentioned connective tissue, it is also interesting that we proceed to find out what the structure is like. In this sense, it must be stated that it consists of three parts fundamentally:
-The fibers, which can be of three types: elastin, which are those that give elasticity; collagen, which are responsible for giving resistance; and the so-called reticulins, what they do is proceed to unite the other existing structures in the connective tissue.
-The cells. These have the peculiarity that they are usually separated from each other. It must also be said that they are also presented in two groups: those that can be divided and those that cannot.
-Matrix. Under this name is the structure, of intercellular type and of variable consistency, that what it does is directly proceed to fill in the spaces that remain between the fibers and the cells. It is made up of materials such as sugars, water, polypeptides and mineral salts.

The diversity of connective tissues, which are also known as connective tissues , has the same origin: the mesenchymal tissue , which comes from mesoderm (one of the cellular layers of the embryos). Anyway, talking about connective tissues is to name structures quite different from each other.

Among the so-called specialized connective tissues , it is possible to name the woven bone , he cartilaginous tissue , he adipose tissue and the lymphatic tissue . There are those who include the blood in this group, mentioning it as Blood tissue .

Of these types of fabrics we can underline some particularities like these:
-The bone tissue is divided into two large groups: the compact and the spongy. Its missions are to protect the soft organs, store elements such as calcium, actively participate in what is the movement of the individual and give vital shape to the structure of the body.
-The cartilaginous can be of three kinds: elastic, fibrous and hyalian.
-The adipose basically acts as an insulator and also as a deposit or reserve of energy.

The non-specialized connective tissues , meanwhile, are divided into dense non-specialized connective tissues (which, in turn, can be irregular or regular ) and non-specialized loose connective tissues (As the reticulate , he mucous and the mesenchymal ).

In general, it can be said that connective tissues are composed of cells and of extracellular elements , such as fibers and the so-called fundamental substance.
